Directions for enrolling and using
the curriculum
Your instructor should have provided you with a
copy of the "Affiliated Student Enrollment Instructions" page and
walked you through the steps. If not, don't panic - we will review the
directions here.
- You may want to print out this page and keep for future reference.
- Make sure you have your computer set to use either Internet Explorer
5.0+ or Netscape 6.1+ and that you have the Flash 5+ plug-in and the
QuickTime 4+ player plug-in.
- In your browser, enter the URL of the ITF curriculum
home page: http://elearning.asu.edu/itf
- Follow the link to the "Affiliated Student's Welcome Page"
and click on the "ENROLL" button at the top of the page.
- From the list, select your Affiliated Organization;
- From the list, select your Instructor;
- From the list, select your ITF class and enter the password
provided by your instructor.
- Fill out the online User Profile and short questionnaire
completely. The curriculum has been created under a grant from
the U. S. Department of Education. As such, we are required to determine
the effectiveness of the curriculum as well as describe some characteristics
of the people who use the curriculum. For this reason, you will be
asked to fill out a very short User Profile form and a Pre-module
questionnaire. You will need to create a username and password that
you will remember and will use to log in to the ITF curriculum each
time you want to use it. You will enter this information as you complete
the User Profile.
- Log in to the ITF curriculum, using your username
and password.
- Choose a module from the Modules List.
- When you enter your first module, you should take
the Tour so you know how to navigate through the curriculum,
how to use the Dynamic Notepad and messaging features, and how to
play the animations.
- After the Tour, there is a REQUIRED Module
Pre-assessment that measures what you know so you can skip
lessons containing what you already know. Alternatively, your instructor
may have told you to disregard our recommendations and may want you
to take all or specific lessons regardless of your scores. Take
the Pre-assessment and review the Prescription Page, write
down your score, and notice the recommended lessons you should take
based on your assessment scores.
- Select one of the recommended lessons or go
to the lesson your instructor has assigned.
- After you have completed the recommended (or
required) lessons in a module, proceed to the Post-assessment to see what you have learned.
Write
down your score(s).
- Proceed to the Wrap-up page, and evaluate the
module. NOTE: it is very important that students evaluate
each module so we can improve them. Please take a few minutes at the
end of each module to complete the Post-module questionnaire that
you will be presented with.
- Use the "Quit Module" button any time you have
to leave the module. This will bring you to the Module List
where you can choose another module or Log Out from the ITF curriculum.
NOTE: It is VERY IMPORTANT to use the "QUIT MODULE" button or your
progress through the module will be lost.
- When you are done using the ITF curriculum for
the day, click on the "LOG OUT from the ITF curriculum now" link on
the Modules List page.
- When you return the next time, click on the "LOG IN" button on the home page of the ITF modules. Enter the ITF curriculum by using the username and password you created.
