Directions for enrolling and using the curriculum
  1. You may want to print out this page and keep for future reference.

  2. Make sure you have your computer set to use either Internet Explorer 5.0+ or Netscape 6.1+ and that you have the Flash 5+ plug-in and the QuickTime 4+ player plug-in.

  3. In your browser, enter the URL of the ITF curriculum home page: http://elearning.asu.edu/itf

    • Follow the link to the "Independent Student's Welcome Page"
and click on the "ENROLL" button at the top of the page.

  4. Complete a User Profile (required) and short questionnaire (optional). The curriculum has been created under a grant from the U. S. Department of Education. As such, we are required to determine the effectiveness of the curriculum as well as describe some characteristics of the people who use the curriculum. For this reason, you will be asked to fill out a very short User Profile form and a Pre-module questionnaire. You will need to create a username and password that you will remember and will use to log in to the ITF curriculum each time you want to use it. You will enter this information as you complete the User Profile.

  5. Log in to the ITF curriculum, using your new username and password.

  6. From the Modules List, choose the first module you wish to work on.

  7. When you enter your first module, you should take the Tour so you know how to navigate through the curriculum, how to use the Dynamic Notepad and messaging features, and how to play the animations.

  8. After the Tour, there is a REQUIRED Module Pre-assessment that measures what you already know. Take the Pre-assessment and review the Prescription Page, write down your scores, and notice the recommended lessons you should take based on your assessment scores. You can skip lessons containing information that you already know. Alternatively, your instructor may have told you to disregard our recommendations and may want you to take all or specific lessons regardless of your scores.

  9. Select one of the recommended lessons.

  10. Use the "Quit Module" button any time you have to leave the module. This will bring you to the Modules List where you can choose another module or Log Out from the ITF curriculum. NOTE: It is VERY IMPORTANT to use the "QUIT MODULE" button or your progress through the module will be lost.

  11. After you have completed the recommended lessons in a module, proceed to the Post-assessment to see what you have learned. Write down your score(s).

  12. Next, proceed to the Wrap-up page, and evaluate the module. NOTE: while this is optional, it is very important that students evaluate each module so we can improve them. Please take a few minutes at the end of each module to complete the Post-module questionnaire that you will be presented with.

  13. When you are done using the ITF curriculum for the day, click on the "LOG OUT from the ITF curriculum now" link on the Modules List page.

  14. When you return the next time, click on the "LOG IN" button on the home page of the ITF modules. Enter the ITF curriculum by using the username and password you created.
